These are the best apps to use to plan your next trip. Use these RV apps to find places to stay, whether you’re looking for a full hookup or an off-grid spot to boondock.  

AllStays Camp & RV  

Search more than 37,000 campgrounds on the AllStays app. You can search campgrounds, hotels, truck stops, rest areas and even Walmart locations where you can camp. Additionally, you can find rates, hookup types, club discounts and other important information all in one place. Whatever you’re traveling in – Class A to compact car – you can find the perfect place to park with AllStays! 

Campendium  

This is one of the best RV apps for users after everything from luxury RV resorts to dispersed boondocking spots. You can search with the usual filters, like location, and you can also search by terms like elevation! Additionally, Campendium includes cell service and public land map overlays, as well as trail maps for wherever you’re staying.  

US Public Lands 

The US federal government owns almost 650 million acres of land; land reserved for all Americans! The US Public Lands app uses color-coded maps to help you find public land where boondocking is completely free.  

Harvest Hosts  

Camp at more than 3,700 wineries, farms, breweries and more with Harvest Hosts! This app is an easy way for self-contained RVers to find overnight stays at unique locations. This isn’t a traditional campground search! Harvest Hosts also owns Boondockers Welcome. An app that can be used to find overnight RV parking on private property, so you have a place to stay anywhere you go. Even where there aren’t campgrounds or public land camping options.  

KOA

This app makes it easy to find all the KOA campgrounds near you, or in the location you’re traveling to. You can book your campsite in the app, filter your search based on camp specifics, get local emergency alerts and more. Any KOA rewards member or KOA regular is sure to use this app for every trip.  

The Dyrt 

This is another one of the best RV apps for planning a place to stay. Simply enter where you’re headed and what dates you’re there. The app will find nearby campsites, show you campground details and even campground ratings. Whether you’re looking for a glampground or free tent camping, The Dyrt can help find a place to park. 

ReserveAmerica 

Campground reservations are easier than ever with ReserveAmerica! Simply type in a location and find campsites nearby. This is one of the best RV apps because it’s easy to find any campground and it includes basic information on every campground listed. You can see local notices, camp descriptions, nearby attractions and more. It’s easy to check availability and find out how to reserve a campsite all in one app.

Passenger seat occupants will be able to help find everything from the cheapest gas to the best routes for cell signal with these RV apps.  

GasBuddy 

Whether you’re filling your diesel pusher or towing a heavy fifth wheel, gas prices can make or break your trip budget. GasBuddy is one of our favorite RV apps because it helps you find the best gas prices near you, and a few miles up the road. The app can show you accurate fuel prices at more than 140,000 gas stations across North America and Australia.

iExit 

The iExit interstate guide will help you find the best pitstops near you. It shows you the exits nearby and has information on what’s there – food, gas, hotels and more. You can search for a specific exit, by what types of businesses you’re looking for, or by the best gas prices. 

Roadtrippers 

RVers can use Roadtrippers during route planning and while on the road. Enter your destination and the Roadtrippers app will tell you the best way to get there. It shows you the best stops and detours along your route and lets you add them to your trip itinerary. Roadtrippers will estimate your fuel costs, provide pre-made trip guides, and show you places to stay along the route. They’re currently beta testing routes customized for your RV! This is one of the best RV apps because it’s a simple way to plan every aspect of your drive, and make sure you get the most out of your trip.  

RV Life Pro 

Make camping simple with the RV Life app! RV Life Pro offers resources to find campgrounds and tourist destinations, plan road trips with the best routes and parks and get automated emails with important information before your trip. They also have a helpful online community where you can get advice, ask questions and connect to other RVers.  

RV Trip Wizard is another popular app that’s now part of RV Life. It’s a trip planning app where you can customize RV-safe routes for your rig, see reviews of nearby campgrounds and get recommendations for nearby sights and stops.  

ToGo RV 

Another one of the best RV apps, ToGo RV’s app has tons of features that will help you be prepared for and stay safe during your trip. You can find RV service centers, campgrounds, activities, restaurants and more nearby within the app. Get peace of mind with their pre-made checklists and recall alerts for your RV.   

Coverage?  

The Coverage? app is especially useful for travelers who depend on cell service. It overlays cellular data coverage maps from different carriers in the US and Canada. You can create a personal coverage map with just the cell company you need, or compare multiple maps. This is an easy way to find out where you’ll have service during your trip and what parts of the road may be a dead zone, so you can plan and prepare accordingly.  

CoPilot 

This app is a simple trip planner and GPS in one, which easily makes it one of the RV apps worth downloading. You can easily plan trips that are specific to RVs, especially when it comes to RVs that may be too tall for some roadways. In addition to smart trip planning, CoPilot will send roadway guidance and alerts about upcoming traffic. Even if you’ve lost cell service, you can count on CoPilot to keep you on the right path.

Local Guide Apps 

Once you’re at your destination, use these RV apps to find the best activities nearby. Whether you’re wondering about the nearest park or need a trail difficulty rating before your hike, these apps have the answers.  

AllTrails 

One of the most popular apps for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts, AllTrails helps you get an idea of what you’re heading into. You can find recommendations, photos, reviews and other information on nearby destinations for hiking, mountain biking, climbing and snow sports. You can even filter down to specifics, like wheelchair friendly paths, or only parks that allow pets.  

iOverlander 

A database of places for overlanders and travelers was bound to make the list of best RV apps. This nonprofit project includes information like campsites, restaurants, water, propane fillings and more. You can see photos of the different destinations and see the date it was last visited. It provides GPS coordinates for when you’re off-grid, and can show you a nearby Walmart to park overnight or a Planet Fitness where you can grab a quick shower.

National Park Service  

The locations and information on every national park is stored in one place with the NPS app. It’s a simple way to access details on over 400 parks across the nation, which makes it one of the best RV apps to download. It offers interactive maps, park tours, accessibility info and more – so you can plan your trip in advance and stay safe while you’re there.  

Recreation.Gov 

Discover natural sights and outdoor destinations across the US with this app. You can book a weekend campground trip, plan a road trip, access info on your reservations and more. After you book a campsite in the app, you can find tickets to ranger-led tours, historical reenactments and more.

AccuWeather 

Though there are plenty of weather apps to choose from, AccuWeather tends to be popular for RVers. It has local and international forecasts and weather news from around the world. SpeedTest  

Use SpeedTest to test your internet speed on any device. It can measure the speed of your broadband, cellular or Wi-Fi connection. The easy one-tap test on your phone will provide you essential stats on your internet speed.
